Hey everybody! For my last post of the year I want to talk about what a great semester I have had in computers class. I have learned a lot about the new computers. This will help me a lot in the future when these are the main types of computers we have. Also, I had a great time doing most of the projects. I really liked the storyboard and newscasts projects. I think that this project about our lives would have been a lot of fun too if we had had more time. I even liked having a blog. There are a lot of things that could have been improved on in this class, but overaall it was a very interesting and informative class. I am definitly going to miss it next semester when we have to take speech.

I think that this picture is a good representation of winter. It shows the peace and beauty of this season. This picture shows all the good parts of winter. It reminds me of Christmas, sledding, and being with my family. Also, it reminds me of the first Christmas with Mary, Joseph, and Jesus.
I commented on Lexi Deceanne's blog.
The winter season gives me mixed feelings. I think that some parts of winter are great , but other parts are horrible. I love the snow. It makes everything look better and calmer, and it reminds me of Christmas. And I like getting days off school. Also, my birthday is in winter. I love how quiet and calm winter can be. I don't like the cold. I hate having to wear coats and stuff just to stay warm. Also, I don't like how it gets dark really early. My favorite season is definitly summer, so usually I can't wait for winter to be over.

What I am Thankful For
There are many things in this world that I am thankful for. I am especially thankful for my family and friends who I could not survive without. I am also thankful for my education which will greatly help me later on in my life. I am thankful for the sports that I get to compete in and my teammates. I am also thankful for my health and the health of my friends and family. Lastly, I am very thyankful for all of the oppurtunities I have because I live in a great, free country.

Well, I just started the newscast project this week. I am working with Maggie Clark and we are doing our newscast on the Olympics. We are focusing on Michael Phelp's amazing preformance in the Olympics this year. We had a hard time finding a topic that we were interested in. I think that the rest of the project will be pretty easy now that we have started. I hope everyone else's projects are going well!

Invention
If I could invent anything that I wanted to, I would invent a machine that would create gasoline. We need gas to fuel are cars and do many other important things, however, we are running out of gasoline. This is causing fighting and wars. Everyone wants to control the oil fields so that they will be rich. If there was a machine that would create gasoline, no one would fight over the oil fields. There would be plenty of gasoline for every nation to have at a reasopnbale price.

Political cartoon

I like this political cartoon because it seems to accurately describe the governments refusal to acknowledge the problems in our world. It shows how the politicians try to feed the public information that does not clearly describe the problems that the world is having. They try to tell us the things that we want to hear, not the things that we need to hear. They don't want any one to think that they are bad politicians, so they refuse to give us the bad news which is the truth, instead they give us useless lies that tell us nothing about the true situation our world is in.

Inspirational Picture

I think that this is a very inspirational picture. You can barely see the runner coming up the foggy road through the trees. This picture makes me want to run more because it shows running as a challenging sport. It makes running seem like a great thing to do. This is a very striking image. The runner looks so small and insigfnificant as they battle their way up the road. This picture inspires me to to try harder and push myself so that I can become a better, faster runner. This picture shows me that even when there is no one else around you to cheer you on, it is still important to try your best even though you are the only person who will know.
For my iphoto project I decided to do a movie I liked instead of a scary movie. I rarely watch scary movies and I really don't like them. I decided to do my podcast on Across the Universe. I really enjoyed this movie. Also, I thought that the podcasts were easy to do and I enjoyed putting sound effects into my recording. I thought that this project was kinda boring and I think that it could have been a lot better if we would have done it on a different subject.

There are many things that have happened in my life that have greatly affected me. One of these happened just last year. I did not make the ND soccer team. I was devastated. I love to play soccer, and I have been playing on multiple teams since I was four years old. Ii went to soccer conditioning for the whole winter, but I still did not make. For a couple of days I was very upset. I then decided to move on and try track. I joined track a little late, but I loved it. I am now doing cross country, and I am planning on doing track a gain this year. This event taught me that even though you are put down and hurt, you can always move on. Sometimes when things seem to not work out, there is probably something else that you are supposed to be doing. You can always pick yourself up and move on. I commented on Tom Hanley's blog.

I am a little nervous about my upcoming report card. I know that my grades are a little lower than I would like them to be, but hopeful they are not too low. My worst subject will probably be Spanish as usual. I hope that this report card shows an improvement in most of my grades. I have not been putting as much effort into my work as I usually do, but hopefully my grades will be acceptable.

I just went to the new Peoria logo website. I found it very difficult to decide which logo that I liked the best and that I would like to vote for. I didn't really like any of the logos, but I had to pick one. I thought thta all of the logos with the ! in place of the "i" in Peoria were dumb. I finally decided on the logo thta said Peoria establed in 1825. I thought that it looked cool and that it showed a bit of our history as a city. I hope this one wins.

I think that the iphoto project is a cool idea. I think that they will look really cool when they are finished. I am not yet done with mine, but I am making good progress so far. I am not sure which song I am going to use in my project, but I was thinking about using How to Save a Life. I hope everyone's projects are going well, too. Mrs. Brown, I commented on Kate Carroll's blog.

The newsletter project about Homecoming was a cool project. I think that the newsletters turned out very good. I thought that the project was kind of boring overall, but I am looking forward to the next project that we are going to do involving the pictures set to music. I am glad that we are done with the newsletter project, and I think that they look really good. Mrs. Brown, I commented on Maggie Clark's blog.
I have many goals for the upcoming year. Some of these goals include my physical health. First, I am planning on running consistently throughout the year. This will help me in the sports that I compete in. I want to keep running even during the winter when I do not compete in a sport for Notre Dame. I hope that I can meet this goal and improve in the sports that I do.

I have not yet started on my pages newsletter assignment. I am not sure what we are supposed to be doing on it, but I hope that it is not due soon. I am still working on my saints project, so I am a little behind. Hopefully we will start working at a little slower pace, because I am falling behind and I know a lot of my friends are too. Mrs. Brown, I commented on Tricia Shadid's blog from 8th hour.
There are many ways that I plan to nurture my intellectual development this year. I hope to get all "A"s in my classes. I know that this will be a challenge, but I am planning on working very hard to acheive this goal. Also, I am going to get more organized so I will be prepared for my classes. I also want to learn a lot this year so I can take more difficult courses next year, andd improve my GPA. If I am able to meet these goals, I think that I will greatly improve my intellectual development.

Hey everyone! I am just commenting on the saints project that we have to do next. I think that it will be really easy because I have had to do so many powerpoint projects already. It will be a lot easier since we have had experience doing powerpoints. I think that it will be kind of boring compared to the storyboard assignment, but we will probably finish it faster. I am not sure what saint I should do, any suggestions?

Based on the Mission Statement in my planner, I can form some goals that I would like to acheive this year in my emotional development. For one, I would like to meet new people and make a lot of new friends. I would like to look for friends outside of the group of people that I usually talk to. I also would like to go to adoration and confession every week, so that I would have a clear conscience. If I met these goals, I think that I could have a much better and happier year at PND.

This year I hope to grow a lot spiritually. One of my goals is to go to mass more often especially in the mornings. I think that going to mass before school is a good idea. It helps you focus on your day ahead. I also want to go to confession more often this year because last year I rarely went. I want to have a good year and a good relationship with God, and hopefully by meeting these goals I will accomplish this.

I like the story board assignment. I like being able to pick out any song that I want to do. I think that they will be really cool when they are done. I want to just put it all together and insert the music. I don't like that we are splitting it up into two different parts. Also, we need more time because I am not even close to being done. I think we should take our time on these because they could be really cool.

Hey ! My name is hannah ward and I am a sophomore. I am in seventh hour computers class this year. Some parts of the class are really cool. I have learned a lot about using the new computers that Notre Dame bought this year. We have done a few projects already this year including spreadsheets, a paper on banned books, and we are now working on storyboards. I think the storyboards are going to be really cool to work on. I thought that the spreadsheets were boring and dumb and that they required too much copying. Overall, I hope that this class will be interesting and fun.
